Our Funeral Director Robert (Bob) Sinclair  Our owner Robert Sinclair also serves as our funeral director and embalmer and has been associated with the funeral business for nearly fifty years. Born in 1949, he became the youngest licensed EMT in Pennsylvania and West Virginia at age 16 when funeral homes also seved as ambulance sevices. He attended Fishburn Military Academy, Allegheny College, University of Cincinnati, and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He became licensed in 1976 and was associated with two small funeral homes and during that time he also worked for Aurora Casket Company. He holds licenses in North Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania. In 1996, he started Davie Funeral Service and in 2000 aquired Mackie-Gentry Funeral Home in Yadkinville. He owns the two funeral homes in conjunction with his wife Sue. They have two children, David and Emily, and two grandchildren, Bailey and Branden. Our Staff Sue Sinclair  Our other owner is Bob's wife, Sue Sinclair. She serves as our office manager. She graduated with honors in Funeral Service Education in May of 2006 from Fayetteville Tech. Whenever we need paperwork, financial information, or a question answered, Sue is the one we all go to. Her service to this funeral home is invaluable. Carroll Jordan Funeral Director Carroll was born in Statesville on May 5, 1937. He graduated from Troutman High School. He received his Bachelor's dedgree from Wake Forest College, his masters from UNC-Charlotte and his Ed.S degree from Applachian State University. He was a teacher and principal for 30 years in Yadkin and Iredell Counties and has served as pastor of Calahaln Friendship Baptist Church in Davie County for over 25 years. He received his North Carolina Funeral Director's License in 1997 and worked at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville before joining the Davie Funeral Service staff in 2002. He and his wife Carolyn have two sons Glenn and Michael, a daughter Stephanie, and two grandsons Michael Robert and Richard. Darryl F. Hawkins Funeral Director/Embalmer Darryl Hawkins is the manager of Mackie-Sinclair Funeral & Cremation Service. He has been a funeral service licensee since 1985. He graduated from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia. He is married to his wife Lisa and they have four grown children. He is a resident of Yadkin County in the Courtney community. He is a yadkin 162 A.F. & A.M., a Shriner, Yadkinville Lion's Club and a member of the Yadkin County Rescue Squad. Angie Hall pre-need coordinator Angie Hall was born in Forsyth County in 1980 and graduated Davie High School in 1998. She has lived in Davie County for 24 years. She began working for Davie Funeral Service in 2002 and received an associates degree in funeral service education from Fayetteville Tech in 2008. She also has been licensed in Life and Health insurance from the Rendleman Company Insurance School in 2004. She is our pre-need coordinator. She has two children, Bailey and Branden. She is the daughter of Tony Major Barney Jr. and the late Norma Myers and the daughter in-law of Bob and Sue Sinclair. Dave Graham photographer, multi-media Dave Graham was born in 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana and grew up in Chula Vista, California. He retired from the US Coast Guard after serving 24 years and was a vetran of the Vietnam War. He attended the University of South Florida and spent 15 years marketing and merchandising for several nationwide companies. He has been with Davie Funeral Service since 2007 and serves as our resident photographer and multi-media director. He is married to his wife Cherie and has 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral Assistant Bobbie-Jean Couch was born in 1984 in Yadkinville. She is the daughter of the late Dale Allgood Weaver and Dallas Caleb Couch Jr., and raised by her stepfather Ricky L. Weaver. She attended Starmount High School and graduated in 2003. She has one son, William who is seven. She is the community coordinator, after-care coordinator, and administrative assistant. Jason Price Funeral Assistant Jason Price was born in 1975 to Don Price, and Kara Gardner. He is from Hamptonville, NC. He graduated from Starmount High School in 1994. He is an active member of the Yadkin County Rescue Squad and the Boy Scouts of America. He is also employed by NuCare Ambulance Service. Heather Adams Burton Funeral Assistant Heather was born in 1988 to D. Grant & Sandra Adams of Boonville, NC. She graduated from Starmount High School in 2007, and received her B.A. in English from Gardner-Webb University in 2010. She is currently studying Funeral Service Education at Fayetteville Tech, working toward the goal of becoming a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. She is blessed to serve the Lord at River City Church in Yadkinville, and lives in the Swan Creek community (Jonesville) with her husband, Ben. Joe T. Chaffin Funeral Assistant Joe Tommy as we all know him is a lifetime resident of Davie county. He retired in 2001 after 30 years of service with the North Carolina Dept. of Transportation. He joined our staff in 2007 bringing with him 10 years of experience in the funeral service. He has been a volunteer firefighter for over 35 years and attends Ijames Baptist Church. His late wife, Mary Francis Chaffin, died in 2007. He has one son, Donald Joe Chaffin. If you ever need to find Joe Tommy, he is either at the funeral home or working in his garden. Athel Talley Staff Athel Talley was born in Yadkin county in 1930 and graduated West Yadkin School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-55 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was first hired by Hurley Hinshaw in 1962 and helped build and open the present funeral home location for Mackie-Gentry Funeral Home in 1963. Athel is the historical link for the funeral home, remaining when William S. Brater became owner in 1990 then passing to the Lowen Group in 1996 and finally to the present generation of owners in 2000. A member of the Sertoma Club since 1974, Athel has proudly served the Yadkinville community. He is married to Brenda Pierson and has two sons, David and Donnie. Keiner Solis insurance, Spanish interpreter Keiner Solis was born in 1964 in Costa Rica and graduated from Universidad Autonoma Centro America in 1994. He is a licensed North Carolina insurance agent. He has been an interpreter for our funeral home since 2001 and also his wife Jennifer Solis has shared these duties. Keiner's services have been valued as he handles all of our international paperwork and dealings with the counsulate in Raleigh. He has two daughters, Monica and Claudia. | |
